Barcelona Will Be Taken Over by Louis Vuitton for a Star-Studded Cruise 2025 Show Barcelona was taken over by Louis Vuitton this week for the eagerly awaited Cruise 2025 exhibition.
The French maison threw an amazing welcome meal at a famous location ahead of the star-studded affair. Guests gathered at La Fábrica, a cement mill transformed into the offices of renowned architect Ricardo Bofill in the 1970s, surrounded by dreamy candlelight and flowers.
Louis Vuitton has a long history of holding their Cruise presentations in magnificent architectural wonders. Some of the past locations have been the brutalist Salk Institute in San Diego and the Oscar Niemeyer-designed Niterói Contemporary Art Museum in Rio de Janeiro. This time, the fashion company turned up the whimsicality level even further by presenting its most recent collection in Barcelona’s Park Güell, a 1914 masterpiece of Antoni Gaudí architecture.
Ana de Armas, Felix from the Stray Kids, Jennifer Connelly, Regina King, Sophie Turner, Pheobe Dynevor, Jaden Smith, Cynthia Erivo, Saoirse Ronan, Shay Mitchell, and Naomi Osaka were among those present for the performance. The host nation provided inspiration for the collection on the runway, particularly for its fervent outlook. Spanish sombreros were worn atop black and white polka dot fabrics, black lace, and even trousers printed with Gaudí’s pattern tiles, all of which were derived from a flamenco dancer’s attire. Nicolas Ghesquière, the creative director, also ventured into his more architectural side by daringly experimenting with volumes; this aspect of his work emphasized black, white, and neutral silhouettes in particular.
Though Gaudí was an accomplished architect and the builder of fantastical utopias, Ghesquiere also comes out of this show as a dream designer. But in this case, dreams might be part of our everyday existence and even remain in our closets.

Several drop-waist dresses with ribbed tank top uppers and voluminous skirts were part of Jil Sander’s collection. Additionally, sheer turtleneck shirts with scalloped waistbands were featured in 16Arlington’s fall/winter 2024 show. Conversely, Ferragamo’s Look 53 had a pleated skirt and a fitted bodice. Jonathan Anderson also strayed from his high-waisted proposals for the fall/winter season, launching the show with three maxi dresses that were paired with low, hip-skimming skirts and enormous belt embellishments adorned with buckles.
It was a worthy homage to London’s fashion heritage that she chose Vivienne Westwood for her first night in the UK. When Zendaya chose a vintage ensemble from the 1990s Café Society line for the Challengers London photocall in April, it was the last time she had worn Westwood in public. Zendaya and stylist Law Roach have explored the concept of “method dressing” over the years, wherein the actress dresses like the roles she plays in movies. They dressed Zendaya’s characters authentically for the press tours of Dune: Part Two and Challengers. As the warrior princess Chani in the film Dune, Zendaya wore futuristic Givenchy and Mugler pieces from the past, including a startling cyborg dress. In addition, she donned tennis-themed ensembles from Thom Browne, Louis Vuitton, and Loewe, all in traditional white and bright green hues, to embody her character, Challengers tennis ace Tashi Duncan. Zendaya doesn’t apply her style of clothing to her own clothes. Her go-to outfits for press visits and her 2024 Met Gala co-chair role were comfy sweatpants, denim, and trench coats.
